At age 35 and 37, my husband and I are trying for our first baby. After a year of trying, we finally went and got tested. My tests came out fine. All these months later and still nothing...
Sorry to report, nothing. My husband went to do another semenalysis on Thursday. I guess we'll see what happens. Went to IVF doctor. It's all stressful.
thank you for the update. i am sorry to hear about that. did your husband ever do the surgery to fix the varicocele? did it help or is it too soon to tell?
with a count of 1 million, my husband decided to fix both sides through the same surgery. the surgery costs $6,000.
we're thinking of trying this first, then going from there.. if it doesn't work, then we'd consider IUI or IVF. it's tough because none of these options has a guaranteed success rate. we're going with the most economical/somewhat least invasive option for now. hopefully the surgery will improve his count and motility not only to get me pregnant now but in the future if we wanted to have more kids.

We've been doing a pretty intense vitamin regimen for six months and we want to see how much it's helped. If his sperm count hasn't gone up significantly, we might reconsider varicocele fix.
